Flip Ledger

Permissions and privacy

Flip Ledger needs no permissions to work. It can ask for two optional ones, chatAccess and httpAccess, and this page explains exactly what each is used for.

Your trades, ledger and settings are stored on your PC only and are never sent anywhere.

chatAccess

The game's plugin sandbox has no clock, so Flip Ledger needs some other way to know the real time. The only one the client offers is the timestamp on chat messages, and reading it requires chatAccess. The same permission lets the plugin post its own lines in your chatbox.

httpAccess

With httpAccess, Flip Ledger downloads public data from two places:

Requests carry item ids and nothing else: not your name, your trades or your settings. If a request fails, the plugin waits 5 minutes, then 15, then an hour before trying again, and everything else keeps working.

Guide prices are only ever shown beside your own numbers, for items you have already traded. They are never used to rank, sort or suggest items, and never added to your profit.

Without it, or with the "Wiki guide prices" setting off, no request is ever made and the Guide column and unsold-stock lines are hidden.

Granting permissions

Until the client has a permissions screen, grant them from the developer console (ALT + `). Use chatAccess or httpAccess in the middle line:

ppr flip-ledger
ppe flip-ledger chatAccess
prl flip-ledger
